Lush 'Sugar Daddy-O' Conditioner Bar

Lush ‘Sugar Daddy-O’ Conditioner Bar Review

Earlier on this week, I did a review on the Lush ‘Honey I Washed My Hair’ shampoo bar and today I wanted to follow-up on that with a review of the Lush conditioner bar that I’m using too.

A few weeks ago, I shared a video on my Facebook page about the environment effects of plastic waste and how we can reduce our plastic waste by using shampoo and conditioner bars instead of bottles. After seeing the sheer amount of plastic that we have accumulated in land fills, I think that the least that we can do is to make positive changes to the environment by reducing our plastic waste.

About Lush

(Do I really need to write this at this point? Haha)

Lush are an all-round ethical cosmetics company that are committed to being cruelty-free, vegan and sustainable as possible. Their products are all handmade, smell amazing, and have a cool sticker at the bottom of their boxed products to tell you who and when the products were made. With over 100 stores across the U.K, Lush is easily one of the most prominent organic beauty brands.

Lush ‘Sugar Daddy-O’ Conditioner Bar 💜

The eco-friendly Lush ‘Sugar Daddy-O’ Conditioner Bar is made using luscious linseed infusion, argan oil, cocoa butter, shea butter and olive oil to nourish. A floral bouquet of violet leaf absolute, rose and bergamot creates intoxicating fragrance that will last on hair all day. Work the bar between the hands before applying a small amount into wet hair; a little goes a long way.

I bought the ‘Sugar Daddy-O’ Conditioner Bar for £6.75, the bar is approx. 45ml, which may seem a little expensive for people but based on other online reviews the bar lasts for about 180 washes (6-8 weeks for some). And to top it off, this particular product is vegan! ☺

Review

As soon as I saw the conditioner bar in store, I had to buy it. I loved the fact that it has ‘Hair Conditioner’ embossed on top, and of course because of the lovely smell of the shea butter and cocoa butter.

Before using the conditioner, I tested out the Lush ‘Honey I Washed My Hair’ Shampoo Bar, and then conditioned my hair. The conditioner bar took a little while to lather, but once it did, it had a thick and smooth consistency – just like any other conditioner. And again, like the other conditioners that I use, it took roughly 5 minutes to thoroughly rinse my hair.

After drying my hair, it had a sleek and smooth shine to it. Normally, I get this kind of healthy shine in my hair when I’ve soaked oil on my hair and washed it, but since using the conditioner I haven’t been using any other hair oil because I didn’t feel the need to. The conditioner is nourishing, and left a soft fragrant smell of the cocoa butter.

Since using the Lush conditioner and shampoo bars my hair feels smoother and healthier, in fact I’ve got quite a few compliments on the condition of my hair. It’s also important to mention that I’ve experienced less hair fall than I normally do. Like the description says, a little really does go a long way; on days that I’ve used the minimal amount of conditioner, my hair still looks conditioned.

The Lush ‘Sugar Daddy-O’ Conditioner Bar is all round economical, eco-friendly and smells amazing. ✨

I’ll be honest, this video prompted me to try the Lush shampoo and conditioner bars and try to reduce my plastic waste wherever possible.

Lush ‘Honey I Washed My Hair’ Shampoo Bar 🍯

The eco-friendly Lush ‘Honey I Washed My Hair’ Shampoo Bar is made with moisterising honey to keep the hair soft and for its natural antiseptic properties. To top it all off the uplifting sweet wild orange and bergamot oils create a gentle aroma.

I bought the ‘Honey I Washed My Hair’ Shampoo Bar for £6.50, the bar is approx. 55ml,which may seem a little expensive for people but based off of other online reviews the bar lasts for about 180 washes (6-8 weeks for some people).

Review

The first thing that I noticed about the shampoo bar was that it smelt of honey, and I’ll admit that I was kind of taken back by how small it actually was when I bought it in store.

Once I got home, I tested it out immediately. Surprisingly, the shampoo bar lathered so quickly, it generally felt like I was washing my hair with a honey and milk blend. The aroma of the shampoo was pretty soothing, and it took me 5 minutes to rinse my hair (roughly the same amount of time that it would with any other shampoo).

After drying my hair, I could still smell the shampoo in my hair. I found that the shampoo bar nourished my hair and since using the shampoo I’ve experienced less hair fall than normal. Before, my hair would fall out like a dog during malting season (I wish I was exaggerating), but thankfully the Lush shampoo and conditioner bars have done wonders for my hair.

One little thing that I would have to complain about, is that I wish the shape and overall look of the shampoo bar itself was a little bit more quirky and fun like their bath bombs. Though, I do love the naked packaging concept that Lush have. The Lush ‘Honey I Washed My Hair’ Shampoo Bar is all round economical, eco-friendly and smells amazing. ✨

P.S: I normally don’t use shampoo on its own, I always condition my hair, so to see the full effects of the shampoo and conditioner bars combined, you have to check out my next review. 😉

Friction Free Shaving Review

Today I wanted to share a game changing gift set with you all, just in time for the summer, the Friction Free Shaving – Gift Set. If you’re anything like me and you have sensitive skin and just generally dread the thought of going through the gruelling pain of getting waxed, then this little kit will save you on both the pain and money.

Who are Friction Free Shaving?

Friction Free Shaving is the first razor delivery service designed exclusively for women. Friction Free Shaving are on a mission to make it cleaner, easier and cheaper for you to shave your legs, underarms and any other areas. All you need to do is sign up and you’ll receive the handle and fresh blades every month.

FFS – Gift Set

With Friction Free Shaving, you get your choice of Shaviour (the razor handle) and free engraving of your choice. First of all you need to use Pre Shave Scrub, a gentle and all natural exfoliate made using the husk of walnuts. After using the scrub, apply the have Cream which is packed with moisturising Manuka honey, Shea butter and coconut oil. And finally, after getting out of the shower you simply need to apply the Post Shave Balm, which provides deep hydration to soothe and condition your skin. The gift set includes four German-engineered razor refills, each with 6 diamond-coated steel blades, styling bikini blade, shower hook and blade cover.

One of the main reasons for the disposable blades was mainly due to hygiene; when we continue to use the same blade over and over our skin becomes more at risk of getting infected, pigmented and developing abscesses. Changing our blades weekly is recommended by skin experts to prevent any damage that could happen from using blunt blades.

Review

Shaviour

I am loving the rose gold razor and the ergonomic design. The razor head moves according to the shape of your legs and the direction that its going in which makes it all the more easy to use that your average disposable razors. The blades itself are not too sharp.

Pre – Shave Scrub

This scrub has a thick consistency and you can smell of the manuka honey. It works well at prepping the skin by exfoliating and smoothing the skin and hairs without hurting the skin, which is great because I have sensitive skin. The exfoliating process is pretty straightforward, and worked well at softening the hairs.

Shaving Cream

The shaving cream completely smoothed out the skin, and honestly I was amazed by the fact that my skin didn’t sting once. The smoothness of the shave was unbelievable, I didn’t experience any cuts and redness at all, and after a while I noticed that I didn’t get any bumps on my legs.

Post – Shave Balm

Once I got out of the shower and dried myself down, I noticed just how smooth my legs were and after adding the balm on the skin, my skin become so soft and nourished. It genuinely did not feel like I had shaved my legs, it felt more like I had just got my legs waxed (minus the pain and redness).

Overall, I feel that the process is relatively simple and easy to follow – my legs are so smooth and I’m not getting any bumps on my skin (yay). It makes great sense in terms of hygiene, and for someone with sensitive skin – it works wonders. And I’ve got to appreciate their sassy style.

I hope you all enjoyed my Friction Free Shaving review, I’d like to thank RebKan PR and the FFS team for sending me this awesome gift set.

Review

When I started using the body wash, I noticed that it smells almost the same as the Hempz Original Herbal Body Moisturiser, as of course, they’re from the same range. The smell was quite sweet and soothing at the same time, especially when the body wash began to lather. After rinsing off the lather and getting out of the shower, my skin felt refreshed and nourished. As with the moisteriser, the banana scent really adds to the refreshing feel of the body wash – which is perfect to use in the heat.

The moisteriser is available to buy online at Amazon for £19.99 for 500 ml; the bottle shown in the picture is of the sample that I received from Alex Silver PR.

Review

At first, I could smell the sweet banana blend in the moisturiser, I couldn’t really smell the natural hemp oil, but can definitely feel the nourishing effects of it skin. The moisturiser is lightweight and easy to blend in to my skin, it generally keeps my hands, body and legs smooth and soft. I’ve also been using this as a face cream and I am loving how smooth, yet kind of firm, my skin is after using the cream. One thing that I do appreciate about this moisturiser is that it keeps my skin soft and firm throughout the day without needing to reapply it.

Thank you to Alex Silver PR for sending me this lovely product to review, you can click here to buy the Hempz Original Herbal Body Moisturiser from Amazon.

I’ve got another Hempz product review coming out next week, so make sure you’re following my blog to keep up.

Plum Goodness Vanilla & Fig Body Butter

Hi everybody, how are you all doing today? ☺

I hope the snow has cleared up in your area. Lately, I’ve been juggling a few different projects (I feel like I say this a lot) and I am working on bringing you guys more reviews, guides and offers. For now, I’m coming towards the end of the Plum Goodness series; there’s only one more review left to do, at this point it’s needless to say that I am kind of in love with this brand, so perhaps I may do some more reviews on their products later on this year. Last month, I did a quick poll on whether you guys wanted to see more reviews from this brand or not. Thankfully, you all weren’t fed up of seeing me talk about this brand.

Today’s review is on the Vanilla & Fig Feel The Fudge Body Butter from the Vanilla & Fig range.

A little about Plum Goodness…

Plum Goodness is an online-cosmetic brand, based in India, that was founded by Shankar Prasad in July 2014. The brand is one of the first 100% vegan brands in India that are completely committed to ensuring that their products are ‘safe and good’ – not only are the products cruelty-free but they are also free of parabens, phthalates and SLS.

The products all feature the ‘1% For The Planet’ logo, meaning that Plum Goodness give 1% of their sales to non-profit organizations that are dedicated to protecting the environment.

Plum Goodness Vanilla & Fig Body Butter

The Plum Goodness Vanilla & Fig Body Butter is a deep hydrating, emollient body butter with nourishing shea butter, soothing vanilla and antioxidant fig extracts for all-round care. The body butter contains added vitamin B3, vitamin C and fig fruit extract for its anti-ageing and skin conditioning properties which works well for all skin types, including those with dry skin.

The body butter is priced at Rs. 450.00 (Indian rupees) for 200ml, which is approximately £5.00 – please do bear in mind that the exchange rate can fluctuate, and the price could be a little higher for someone purchasing from outside of India. I bought the body butter as part of the Vanilla & Fig Irresistible Bundle, at the time it was worth Rs. 1440 and I was charged £16.35  for it but it’s currently on sale for Rs. 1,050.

Review

One of the main reasons that I bought this body butter, was because of the quality of the brand and the great reviews on it.

When I first opened the Plum Goodness Vanilla & Fig Body Butter, I could immediately smell the soothing vanilla scent, I couldn’t really smell the fig as much. On its first use, I found the body butter to be quite rich and smooth, as well as good value for money as I didn’t have to use a lot of product on my body for it to be completely moisterised.

Generally, I’ve been using this body butter since I received it a couple of months ago and I’m pretty impressed with the way that it manages to keep my body nourished throughout the day, especially when it’s freezing outside. I haven’t needed to re-apply the body butter, and when I shower after using the body butter, my skin is still soft. During the snowy weather, this body butter doubled as a hand cream and it did not dry up at all, my hands did freeze but they weren’t dry if that makes sense. So far this body butter (and brand) has continued to amaze me with it’s high quality. 👌🏽💆🏽‍✨

If you are from India, then you can order directly from the Plum Goodness website. If you live outside of India, then you can order the products by emailing hello@plumgoodness.com

A’kin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil Review

Since it’s still February, I wanted to contine with the floral theme that I have going at the moment. So today, I wanted to share with you all my first review on an organic, vegan and cruelty-free product from Australia, the A’kin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil.

Are A’kin cruelty free?

A’kin was launched in Australia in 2002 using pioneering technologies and leading the way in natural skincare. The philosophy at A’kin is all about creating pure, authentic and beautifully aromatic skincare, crafted without parabens,
sulfates, artificial colours or fragrances. This high quality, natural skincare brand is cruelty-free, vegan and completely organic!

A’kin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

The A’kin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil is 100% natural with a minimum concentration of 80% essential fatty acids (Omega 3,6,9) for optimal skin health. This antioxidant and vitamin rich oil helps to protect the skin from the effect of environmental elements, prevent signs of ageing and help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It’s perfect for use on scars, strech marks, uneven skin tone and nourishing dry lips. It is recommended to apply 3-4 drops of the oil after cleansing by gently massaging it into the face, neck and decolletage prior to moisturiser, and to use it twice daily.

Normally this product is priced at £40.00 for 45ml, fortunately it’s currently available to buy at QVC for £25.68.

Review

As with most organic oils, the smell is a tad strong, but once you massage the oil into your skin the smell fades. When I first applied the oil to my face, I found the texture to be quite lightweight compared to most oils that I have used in the past. The rosehip oil easily blended into my skin, giving it a natural and healthly looking shine without appearing oily on my skin. Generally, I found that my skin absorbs the oil quite quickly when my skin is slightly warm from having a shower or washing my face with warm water.

I’ve been using the rosehip oil overnight and it keeps my skin, my face and parts of my body, hydrated throughout the night. As I mentioned before, you can use the rosehip oil to reduce the appearance of scars, and I must admit that I am quite impressed with the way that the scars on my face and body have begun to fade since using the oil.

In fact, in the past few days I decided to wear the oil under my makeup, as it’s kind a new trend that I’ve seen online and wanted to experiment with this oil. When applying makeup over the oil, my skin has had such a natural glow to it throughout the day and it stayed hydrated despite it the freezing temperatures outside – I absolutely love it! 💆🏽🌹✨

I’d like to thank the lovely people at RebKan PR and A’kin for sending me this amazing product! Click here to buy the A’kin Rosehip Oil from QVC, and to check out the rest of the A’kin collection at QVC.

I hope you all enjoyed my review of this product, do comment and let me know what you think. ☺

Lush Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb Review

Lush Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb Review

It’s been freezing this week and honestly a hot tub bath was exactly what I needed, and definitely something I’d recommend for all of you too! In case you haven’t had a chance to read my latest posts, or you’re a new reader, I decided to do a series on some of Lush’s Valentines bath bomb range, as requested by some of my lovely readers. So today, the last review of my mini Lush Valentines Bath series will be on the Lush Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb.

Who are Lush?

Lush are an all-round ethical cosmetics company that are committed to being cruelty-free, vegan and sustainable as possible. Their products are all handmade, smell amazing, and have a cool sticker at the bottom of their boxed products to tell you who and when the products were made. With over 100 stores across the U.K, Lush is easily one of the most prominent organic beauty brands.

Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb 🌹

The rose bombshell bath bomb is quite literally a bombshell of roses, with yellow rose petals, rose absolute and rose oil. Once it fizzes, the powdery outer shell breaks away releasing yellow petals with Sicilian lemon and floral geranium oils. I bought the bath bomb from the Lush Oxford Street store for £4.50 (each).

Review

When I first saw this bath bomb, it instantly reminded me of the Twilight Bath Bomb, just to clarify, it’s nothing like it. The Rose Bombshell bath bomb smells quite powdery on the outside, and as you can see from the pictures it is a pastel pink, almost purple colour with little bits of blue here and there. At first, you can’t really smell the roses so much.

When I put the bath bomb in the tub, it began breaking down immediately, at first the water started changing into a very light pink colour with powder floating around. Then as the layers began to fizz out, the water turned into a pretty bright pink colour revealing the yellow rose petals, at this point the fresh floral scents were in the air!

Once I got in the tub, I could smell the subtle citrus scent of the Sicilian lemon oil and the oils were slowly working to soften my skin and relax my body. Generally, the bath bomb seems like a less subtle version of the Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb. I was a little disappointed because it didn’t photograph very well, because honestly the image doesn’t do justice to the lovely colour! After getting out of the tub, I felt quite refreshed and I ended up smelling like roses for the rest of the day (lol), I was inside the bath tub for almost 40 minutes and I will definitely recommend this to anyone that loves roses as much as I do! 🌹🛀🏽

I hope you all enjoyed my review on this! Don’t forget to comment, share and subscribe ☺

Lush Heart of Enlightened Expectation Bubble Bar Melt

Hey everyone, ☺

I hope your weekend is going well so far!

This post was supposed to be published during the week, but I’ve honestly been feeling so burnt out so it’s a little later than it was supposed to be. If you don’t already know, I decided to do a series on some of Lush’s Valentines bath bomb range, as requested by some of my lovely readers. So today, the third of my mini Lush Valentines Bath series will be on my new favourite product from Lush, with an incredibly long name – the Lush Heart of Enlightened Expectation Bubble Bar Melt. (I initially bought this bubble bar thinking it was a bath bomb, but I still decided to add this review to this series because I loved this bubble bar so much.)

Heart of Enlightened Expectation Bubble Bar Melt 🧡

This bubble bar is made with ylang ylang and bergamot oils to brighten moods, Fair Trade organic cocoa butter that softens skin in the bubble bath. The geranium, jasmine and rose oils add to the floral fantasy in the bath that soothes and calms allowing you to step out with confidence. I bought the bar from the Lush Oxford Street store for £4.50 (each).

Review

The top of the bubble bar is quite creamy and buttery. The bottom kept crumbling very quickly and it made my skin feel so soft, the feel of it was very gentle. When I put the bubble bar under running water, I was so surprised at how quickly it crumbled and melted under the running water, I could immediately smell the cocoa butter in there – it was luscious, the water had turned into a bright orange colour with beautiful bubbles covering the surface of the tub.

I felt like a little kid when I was getting in the tub, because there were just so many bubbles! The oils in the water instantly worked on my skin, making it feel so soft and smooth. The smell was amazing, so relaxing, I could mainly smell the cocoa butter and a hint of the ylang ylang oil, I stayed in the tub until all the bubbles had popped – so about 45 minutes to an hour. After getting out of the tub and drying down my skin felt so tender, and generally felt moisterised, this is perfect for anyone who’s skin might need a little extra moisture.

Personally, the Heart of Enlightened Expectation Bubble Bar Melt, is first of all such a long name; I think the bubble bar should be called the cocoa love bubble bar, but that’s just me (🤷🏽), but on a serious note, I think I’ve found my new favourite product from Lush. 😍🧡🛀🏽

Have any of you tried this bubble bar yet? What were your thoughts on it? I hope you all enjoyed my review on this! Don’t forget to comment, share and subscribe ☺

Lush Love Boat Bath Bomb Review

Lush Love Boat Bath Bomb Review

If you don’t already know, I decided to do a series on some of Lush’s Valentines bath bomb range, as requested by some of my lovely readers. So today, the second of my mini Lush Valentines Bath Bomb series will be on possibly the most fun and simultaneously stressful to capture – the Lush Love Boat Bath Bomb.

A little bit about Lush…

Lush are an all-round ethical cosmetics company that are committed to being cruelty-free, vegan and sustainable as possible. Their products are all handmade, smell amazing, and have a cool sticker at the bottom of their boxed products to tell you who and when the products were made. With over 100 stores across the U.K, Lush is easily one of the most prominent organic beauty brands.

Lush Love Boat Bath Bomb 🛥️

This exclusive Valentines bath bomb is made with a blend of organic sweet orange oil and Sicilian lemon oils to uplift, cleanse and refresh the body. And in keeping with the Valentines theme, it is also made with a balancing and restorative rose oil and it’s vegan! As you can see in the picture, the boat shaped bath bomb also has little heart shaped glitter at the bottom of the boat (which I thought was a very cute touch). I bought this bath bomb from the Oxford Street Lush store for £4.25 each.

Review

When I put this bath bomb in the tub, the bottom of it immediately started to fizz with the glitter and vibrant yellow and pink colours spreading out. At that point, I could mainly smell the zesty scent of the orange and lemon oils. As it was breaking down, the bath bomb let out these lovely frothy swirls of pink, purple and blue with little flecks of glitter, I wasn’t timing myself properly but it took around 8-10 minutes to completely fizz out.

Once I was in the bath tub, I could feel the blend of the different oils working into my skin, it was very gentle and all around refreshing which is a nice change from what I normally use. The water eventually turned into a dark pink colour and the heart shaped glitter sunk to the bottom of the tub so I didn’t get the chance to get a good picture of it, I think that I was in the tub for about 35-40 minutes.

This special Valentine Love Boat bath bomb is fun, fresh and colourful, I love the combination of the rose, orange and lemon oils but I will admit that I was a little disappointed that it didn’t float (lol). If you haven’t already tried out this bath bomb, then you definitely should get on board and try it out. 💖🛥️
