Lush Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb Review

Last weekend, I asked you guys if I should do more bath bomb reviews on instagram and quite a few of you said that I should, so I decided to do a little series on some of the Lush Valentines bath bomb range. The first of my Lush Valentines Bath Bomb series will be on the Lush Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb.

Who are Lush?

Lush are an all-round ethical cosmetics company that are committed to being cruelty-free, vegan and sustainable as possible. Their products are all handmade, smell amazing, and have a cool sticker at the bottom of their boxed products to tell you who and when the products were made. With over 100 stores across the U.K, Lush is easily one of the most prominent organic beauty brands.

Lush Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb 💕

For the Valentines collection, Lush have changed the Tisty Tosty bath bomb by adding a layer of pink to the bath bomb, before it was a powder white bath bomb with rose buds stuck on the front. The Tisty Tosty bath bomb has a blend of woody orris root powder and restorative rose absolute, it also has Sicilian lemon oil, geranium and jasmine too add to the aroma of the bath bomb, and of course the signature dusty pink rosebuds are still on it. I bought this bath bomb from the Oxford Street Lush store for £3.50 each.

Review

The bath bomb immediately started to fizz and break down, at first you could smell the soothing aroma of the rose and jasmine. It took around three to four minutes for it to fizz out completely, bear in mind that I kept moving it around and holding the bath bomb to take pictures for this post (lol). Once the bath bomb completely fizzed out, my bath tub turned into a pretty rose pink colour and the little rose buds were floating around in the tub.

As I got into the tub, the citrus smell became a little more prominent and the water had an almost musk-like smell,  the bath bomb in general was calming, and the blend of all the different scents were in no way overpowering – I must have spent at least 40 minutes in the tub. After getting out of my tub, I noticed that it was a little stained by the bath bomb, mainly where I had actually held the bath bomb in place to take pictures, but it washed off quickly so there’s nothing to worry about there.

The bath bomb did a great job at relaxing my whole body with the gentle and subtle smells; one thing I will say that I was a little disappointed by is that there didn’t seem to be as many oils compared to some of the other bath bombs that I’ve tried out from Lush, but the bath bomb did gradually soften my skin. Overall, I think that this Valentine edition of the Tisty Tosty bath bomb is lovely, I actually hope they keep it this way all year around as the the pink layer adds a little more something to it.

Lush Twilight Bath Bomb Review

Last week I tried out the Lush Twilight Bath Bomb, and I loved it so much that I tweeted about it, and sent pictures of it to my friends – turns out some of you wanted me to do a review on the bath bomb, so I hope you all enjoy this review!

Twilight Bath Bomb

The Lush Twilight Bath Bomb is made of a blend of Lavender Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil known for its natural antidepressant and antiseptic properties, Tonka Absolute and Benzoin Rezanion for helping to reduce inflammation and give a sweet aroma. I bought this bath bomb for £3.95 from the Oxford Street, London Lush store.

Review

Before using the bath bomb, the lavender oil was definitely the most prominent smell, seeing as it is a part of the first layer of the bath bomb. At first, I didn’t realise that there were a few layers to the bath bomb until I chucked it in the bath tub. The second layer is a dreamy light pink that started to add a bit of a frothy texture to the bath, and the blue layer, or ball I should say, swirled around the tub – it looked gorgeous. The bath bomb took a while to fizz out completely (approx. 8-10 minutes), I had to break it a little towards then end just to get it to go faster as I was getting a little tired of waiting, I felt like the water would cool down by the time it would be done fizzing out.

Once I got in to the tub, I actually noticed that there are tiny flecks of glitter in the bath bomb, but I didn’t mind it, it added a bit of sparkle to the tub (thankfully it didn’t stick to my body or the tub afterwards). I immediately felt the different oils, within 10 minutes it had completely softened my skin. The combination of the lavender oil and ylang ylang oil were definitely working in terms being soothing, keeping me calm and relaxing my muscles. At one point, I was so relaxed that I forgot about time and almost fell asleep inside the tub, then the hunger kicked in and I remembered that I forgot to eat so I, unfortunately, had to get out. I believe I was inside the tub for about an hour.

This bath bomb is great for someone who may have trouble sleeping, for those that want a night in to relax or just to pamper yourself (why not, eh?) The first time round that I used this bath bomb I just curled up and fell asleep immediately after coming out of the tub, I’m pretty sure that some of you may do the same too, I hope you all enjoy this bath bomb as much as I did   ✨

Lush Pumpkin Bath Bomb Review

Happy Halloween to you all! 👻🍬☺

I hope you all have a lovely and safe Halloween. Like most of us, I’ve outgrown Halloween and frankly, with my work schedule and commitments I don’t really have the time for it. At the beginning of this month I did write a makeup post for those that are celebrating Halloween, Cruelty-free Halloween makeup, and today I want to dedicate this post to those of you that would like to have a relaxed evening for Halloween (or don’t really celebrate).

This is my first post on a bath bomb and it’s also been a while since I’ve used a bath bomb, so I’m generally quite excited to review this product. Just so you know Lush have a whole collection of Halloween themed bath bombs, if you’d like to try out some of the other ones.

Pumpkin Bath Bomb

The Lush Pumkin Bath Bomb is of course made with Pumkin Pie perfume with exotic Pimento, Cinnamon Bark Oil and Vanilla. The combination of the oils in the bath bomb give off a soothing sweet and spicy smell – perfect for getting into the Halloween or autumnal spirit.

I bought the bath bomb for £4.25 from the Oxford Street, London Lush store.

Review

Before putting the bath bomb in the tub, I could really smell pumkin more than anything, it smelt more like a pumpkin candy when in solid form. After fizzing out, the combination of the cinnamon and vanilla became more prominent – strangely enough it looked a lot like orange soda/fanta to me.

Once I got into the tub, I was a little overwhelmed with the smells, but after a minute or so it became quite relaxing. I was actually quite surprised at how quickly the oils from the bath bomb started working into my skin, within 10 minutes I could physically see and feel my skin softening up. The bath bomb has a very soothing blend of sweet & spicy smells that work gently on the skin.

I actually forgot about the amount of time that I spent in the tub, if I had to guess then I would say somewhere between 45 minutes to an hour, which I is good sign as it meant that the bath bomb worked well in being relaxing. Surprisingly, the bath bomb didn’t stain my skin or tub, but I did have a quick shower afterwards just in case, after drying down my skin was still just as soft as it was in the tub. This bath bomb is definitely perfect for people that don’t get a lot of time to themselves, it’s great way to unwind and forget about time – loved it! Do natural deodorants work?

Hello everyone! How is your weekend going so far?

Do natural deodorants work? Yes! But of course one word isn’t the best way to answer the question.

The reviews that are on this site are all done by myself, from testing out the products, to writing my thoughts about it – but today I’d like to share some research and reviews on natural deodorants (carried out by a very reliable source) – Reviews.com. And of course, like always all the products are cruelty-free and vegan!

Who are Reviews.com?

Reviews.com is a wesbite created and managed by an inquisitive small team who test and review products. Once they review the products and services the team collectively decide on which products and services are the best. Personally I quite like the idea of a team collectively deciding what is the ‘best’ as this makes the research more credible and valuable.

After talking with a dermatologist, a chemist, and two natural deodorant creators, the Reviews.com team hand-tested 23 deodorants to find their top picks: aluminum-free formulas with pleasant scents, goop-free application, and minimal residue.

The Best Natural Deodorants:

1 | Sam’s Natural Deodorant –  “The product is free of aluminum, free of common irritants, and its first two ingredients (coconut oil and baking soda) are verified odor-blockers. We found the circular stick easy to maneuver across our pits, and it left minimal goop on clothes and only a faint sheen on skin. The Cedar and Women’s scents that we tested both lasted through two hours of wear — without smelling overpowering — and if neither of these options appeals to you, Sam’s offers 13 more scents. Each stick is reasonably priced ($10 for 3 ounces) and an easy gateway for anyone interested in transitioning to a natural product.” Those of you based in the U.K can order directly from the Sam’s Natural website by clicking here.

 

2 | Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant – “Schmidt’s sticks for regular skin boast the same odor-busting coconut oil and baking soda as Sam’s, in a similarly flake- and residue-free formula. We tried four of its seven scents and liked the cool “freshly fallen rain” nose of the Charcoal+Magnesium formula — although if you like a pop of floral, its Rose+Vanilla certainly delivers. The price point is about the same as Sam’s: around $10 for 3 ounces.” Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant is available to here in the U.K from Naturisimo.com.

 

3 | For Pit’s Sake! Natural Deodorant – “This product comes in a stick that leaves almost no residue, but we did have to use quite a bit of force to fully coat our pits, which some of our hairy-pitted testers weren’t too into. That said, it includes all threeof the odor-blocking ingredients we pinpointed in our research — coconut oil, baking soda, and zinc — at a comfortable $9.” Unfortunately I couldn’t find any stockists here in the U.K, and I couldn’t find any details of internation shipping but if you are interesting in buying it’s worth getting in touch with the sellers.

 

4 | Green Tidings All-Natural Deodorant -“Like Sam’s and Schmidt’s, this deodorant is vegan and cruelty-free, but its ingredients are also certified organic by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and it’s made in a solar-powered plant. The trade-off? It’s a little more expensive, at $8 for a 1-ounce tube. Green Tidings is aluminum-free and includes baking soda and (organic) coconut oil to fend off body odor. The subtle scent (courtesy of organic lavender essential oil) didn’t last as long as Sam’s, but after two hours, we didn’t notice any BO, either. Testers did find the product a bit gritty, but some of them liked this added assurance that they’d successfully coated their underarms.” Again, this product only seems to be available in the U.S on Amazon.

 

 5 | Fatco Women’s Stank Stop Deodorant – “was the only other natural dedorant we tested that included all three of our wish-list odor-blockers. (It’s also Certified Paleo, and includes beef tallow as a moisturizer.) Fatco is a cream, which means you’ll need to dip your fingers into a (very small) jar to apply the product — a process our testers weren’t wild about. But the deodorant itself was very effective, with a pleasant smell and minimal residue.” Buy online from Amazon (U.S.) 

 

6 | Agent Nateur & Shiva Rose Holi Rose Deodorant – “seemed almost like a combination of deodorant and women’s perfume (although not everyone liked the rose and sandalwood scent). Holi Rose leaves very little residue, and while it was also the most expensive product that we tested ($25 for 1.7 ounces), it’s a good high-end option if you’re concerned about protecting delicate fabric.” You can buy this online from Amazon (U.S).
